August Newsletter 2010
Happy
August Crafty Friends,
Wow! What an exciting summer we've had at the Sew Bar. Fashion Camp, CRAFT w/the Bands, and The Ramble have all come and
gone, but with summer days waning there is still alot of
sustainable sewing fun on the horizon. The August and September calendars are live!
It's Curtains 4 U, Wrap-A-Round Skirts, UpCycled Messenger Bags,
EcoSew potholders and sew much more. We keep our class sizes small
so be sure to save your spot early.

The Bobbin Mamas are thrilled to announce that we will once again
be participating in SEABA's Strut! Fashion Show.
We love an opportunity to stretch our sew skills and creativity in
order to Strut! our fashions on the Runway. As part of SEABA's (South End Arts & Business
Association) annual Art Hop for the 5th year, there will once
again be Strut: An Art Hop Fashion Event. Busy Mamas, we are
selecting and styling our fabulous local Vermont models while
stitching up a storm all month long in anticipation. Save the date,
you don't want to miss this!
The Mamas are thrilled to introduce the newest member of our
crafty Old North End family of local designers:
K. P. Hasert-Atherton of "wee silly beastie".
Krista grew up in central Vermont, where she learned sewing,
knitting, crochet, and the economical use of materials from my
parents and a favorite neighbor. My bedroom was classic 70's
abstracted floral wallpaper in yellow/orange/green, with a golden
yellow bedspread and green shag carpeting under foot. I still love
that color combination and loud floral prints, be it on thrift-shop
sheets, vintage polyester shirts or scrap wallpaper.
Over the years, Krista's, further inspiration has come from nature
observation and living with bunnies (those wee sillie beasties!).
There is always something fascinating or cute happening.
"I like to share the cute." -K.P. Hasert-Atherton
